Mission
In September 2025 Bykirken sent Kristyna and Rasmus Raus, with their one-year-old daughter, to northern Thailand, working together with other partner churches. We invite you to be part of it.
Two main tasks
The AIDS Care project provides care for low-income families affected by HIV/AIDS and ensures the children can stay with their families and finish their education. Local volunteers also do social and evangelistic activities for the families. The project has run for over 20 years.
The Shan people are a large part of AIDS Care, and the couple spend a lot of time in the Shan area and, if possible, will move there in 2027. The Shan number around 5 million and come from Myanmar. Local Shan Christians have invited the couple, on their own initiative, to serve with them.

Kristyna & Rasmus are in Thailand to see
Rasmus coordinates the AIDS Care project, which for more than 20 years has helped low-income families affected by HIV/AIDS, so that the children can stay with their families and complete their education.
The couple serve among the Shan people — around 5 million people with roots in Myanmar, regarded as not yet reached with the gospel. It was local Shan Christians who invited them.
Their calling
Being sent out as missionaries is nothing new to Kristyna and Rasmus. They have both served abroad before, though in different countries. Rasmus has been to Tanzania, and Kristyna to Thailand, where she also speaks the language.
The way they met was very special. They weren’t looking for a spouse; they met at a school for missionaries, and both had a passion for being sent out. When they sensed that they were meant to be a couple, their first prayer to God was that they would be called to the same continent — at that time each of them was called to a different country. It was important to both of them to discover God’s calling together.
The interview was recorded for Bykirken by Maria Louise Gejsing Olesen of the podcast “Marias Hjørne” in spring 2025.
